Danish Refugee Council

Advisory boards

Advisory boards for Somalia and Afghanistan provide input and advice on project selection and implementation of the fund. The advisory boards for Somalia and Afghanistan respectively consist of 4 members from the diaspora, 1 representative from DRC for Somalia and DACAAR for projects in Afghanistan, 1 representative from “Projektrådgivningen”, and the DRC project coordinator. The project coordinator acts as the advisory board’s secretariat.

The role and mandate of the DRC Diaspora Fund’s Advisory Boards:

  • Recommend applications for approval or rejection
  • Provide input and advice on overall implementation and budgeting issues relating to the DRC Diaspora Fund
  • Discuss and provide recommendations for adjustment of criteria and guidelines based on cases from the ongoing implementation
  • Ensure transparency towards the Danish diaspora in regard to all matters, e.g. by informing interested members of the diaspora about news on progress
  • Provide recommendations in case of problems with the overall implementation or handling of funds
