Evaluation

Lessons learnt evaluation of the Diaspora Fund
An extensive internal evaluation of the Diaspora Fund pilot project is currently being undertaken.

This evaluation is led by Zia Choudhury but conducted jointly with DRC’s project coordinator and members of the Advisory Boards. The findings will be used to help determine whether a subsequent project should be developed and if so, how it can be designed to better meet the goals of different stakeholders, including Danida, DRC, the Diaspora in Denmark and the beneficiaries.

A mixture of methods is used to gather information. The main method is through interviews with the following key informants: Danida representatives, DRC staff engaged in the Project in Denmark, Kenya, Somalia and Afghanistan, members of the Advisory Boards, Project Fund applicants, and implementing agencies in Somalia and Afghanistan. Methods used in addition to one to one interviews are workshop group discussions and a selection of project site visits.

In addition to the head evaluator Zia Choudhury, the evaluation team consists of project coordinator Maja Halleen Graae and Advisory Board members Abdi Ashur Hassan and Anwar Naibi.
